The Library

    The building area of the Library of Shenyang Pharmaceutical University is 11000m2, there are 4 large stack rooms, 2 audio-visual studios, 1 multi - media reading-room, 2 rooms for searching literature and 1 academic hall for reports and meetings. It is a university library with bright rooms, complete equipments, complete functions, rational arrangement and advanced search means. Now there are 260000 books and over 2000 periodicals. There is a literature -collecting system with the literature of the science of pharmacy as the main body, the literature of chemistry and biology as pillars, the literature of engineering technique, enterprise management and social science as coordination, the literature of the 6 disciplines of pharmaceutics, medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, natural drugs, organic chemistry and analytical chemistry as the focal points and the system has been the collecting center of literature of the Northeast.
    The library began to use the ILAS in 1994. In 2000 the library built up a local net to carry out the search for information and multi-media professional reading integration. Now the library has opened the international interconnection net with the Beiguo Data Company of Northeastern University, a LNIENET with the center of provincial scientific technical information and has become a first rate medical station of search for information and consultative service of Chinese academic periodicals (light disk edition) . In recent years nearly a hundred data bases in the net have been bought for readers. The quantity of light disks has reached over 1000.
    The library mainly faces the students and teachers, serves the teaching, scientific research and the work of searching literature for undergraduates and carries out the search for information in the library and for outward units and consultative service.
